Rice Krispie Football Helmets and Jerseys

OK, I'm going to be honest with you. I am not exactly the biggest football fan. I don't really understand what the line of scrimmage is or what the difference is between a fullback and a cornerback. I know what a touchdown is and that Tom Brady is hot, and that's about the extent of it. But my wonderful husband is about as football obsessed as a person can get, so I try to follow along and get into the spirit.  Evan goes to the Superbowl every year so I usually spend Superbowl Sunday with my family, watching commercials and using the Superbowl as an excuse to bake adorable football related treats. This year my parents are having a bunch of people over to celebrate, and one of the cutest things I'll be serving are these Rice Krispie Football Helmets and Jerseys.

The thing I love about these adorable treats is that they are SO SO easy to make yet SO SO impressive to your guests! I guarantee your crowd will go wild for these and it's just a plain old rice krispie treat, cut out into jerseys and helmets using cookie cutters, decorated with colored candy melts and stuck onto paper stripey straws.

And if you're lovin' the awesome ceramic football canister in these photos, you can find it here at Amazon! It comes filled with football spatulas, spoons and pasta server -- so cute!

Rice Krispie Treat Football Helmets and Jerseys on a Stick
Ingredients:3 tbsp butter1 bag mini marshmallows6 cups Rice Krispies
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, then add in the marshmallows and stir with a rubber spatula until melted (spray spatula with non stick cooking spray to avoid marshmallows sticking to the spatula.) Add Rice Krispies and stir until cereal is well coated in marshmallow. Lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch pan with non stick spray, then turn the Rice Krispie mixture out into the pan. Press down with the palm of your hand to flatten the Rice Krispies evenly into the pan. Allow 15 minutes to cool.
Additional Ingredients:
Helmet and Jersey shaped cookie cutters
Various colors of candy melts
striped straws or lollipop sticks
Squeeze bottles
Use your cookie cutters to cut out shapes of football helmets and jerseys then gently insert a striped straw or lollipop stick into the base of each shape. Melt candy melts in the microwave and then transfer to squeeze bottles. Decorate your Rice Krispie shaped with various colors and patterns.
