TWD - Bourbon Bread Pudding and The Bachelor

So here's the thing. I am not really the biggest fan of The Bachelor. I mean, sure, I've watched a few of the first seasons, but then I lost interest and stopped watching for a while. But the TV was on when the first episode of this season aired. I watched the whole thing and now I am literally completely hooked. I actually get excited for it each week. And it doesn't help that the show is two hours long. Two hours of crazy aggressive girls fighting for time with Brad the Bachelor. Two hours of girls crying and whining about each other...and I hang on their every word. Evan will see me watching it, go do something, and come back almost two hours later in complete disbelief that I am still glued in front of the TV watching this show. Right now I think Emily is my fave. I find Ashley to be annoying, Michelle is beyond awful, and the funeral director girl, I mean that's just weird.

Wanna know what goes really well with The Bachelor? Bourbon Bread Pudding, this week's Tuesdays With Dorie pick, selected by Sharon of Simply Southern! And I would know, because I ate a heck of a lot of it while watching last night. I thought this bread pudding was delicious, though it was very, very rich. I used Challah bread in mine, and followed the recipe exactly as is with no additional changes. The bourbon flavor was extremely subtle, almost undetectable. But the combination of bourbon, vanilla and almond extract gave the pudding a wonderful, well rounded flavor. The texture was soft and silky, and melted right in my mouth.

All in all, this recipe is a keeper...and now I can't wait for next week to see who Brad keeps around!

  1. So pretty! I used Challah too...holla! That's so funny that you got hooked after one episode. Perhaps they need a disclaimer to pop up stating the dangers of Bachelor addiction and any potential side effects :)

  2. Gorgeous bread pudding! I was the same with the Bachelor - watched the first few seasons, then got bored with it. Funny enough, the bf is the one who got me hooked on this season. :)

  4. I'm not really a fan of bread pudding so I did a rewind and I won't lie to you and say that I love your bread pudding because you know I would be insincere, so instead I will say that I LOVE the wedding cake you made...so pretty and elegant! Maybe the Bachelor would like to see it for a future wedding!

  5. I have a bad habit of loving watching the Bachelor, too. And it drives my husband nuts. What about Chantal O?
The one who told him last night she loves him? I think she might be my favorite/best fit for him. And I would SO love to see him pick her and get rid of Michelle. ;)

  9. Every season I say I'm not gonna watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette, it's too scripted. And then I end up watching it every dang time! Chantal O. is my favorite - she says what's on her mind and calls people out who need to be called out. I do think she told him she loves him a tad toooo early though. Michelle, I'd like to punch her in the face. No joke. And Evan watches "The Hills", so he has NO room to talk, LOL! Bread pudding is one of my fave desserts, I am defintely going to have to make this one!

  12. Haha I got sucked into the Bachelor this season too. Emily is my favorite as well but I think he'll end up with Chantal, they seem to have crazy chemistry.

I sat out the bread pudding as we're not fans, but yours does look yummy!
